Nobuhle Ngcobo

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Nobuhle Ngcobo is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Thembanathi Security Safety and Cleaning Services. Ngcobo is very passionate about all matters of security. She boasts over ten years of experience in the industry, and she is an accredited firearm facilitator, a rare feat for a Black woman. She is also a qualified health and safety officer and knowledgeable person in retail security and National Key Point’s protection. Since joining Thembanathi in 2015, she has contributed to the company’s organic growth to be among the leading security companies in KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.
Ngcobo’s forward-looking thinking saw a gap in the market for a start-up that can punch above its weight and compete amongst the leading pack in the security industry. She says security is more than guns and muscles, but understanding and fulfilling the hidden security needs of your client. To ensure that every security officer sees the big picture, Ngcobo ensures that every officer receives customer relationship skills and first aid training to add value, not muscle, to the clients.
She is strategy-driven with dogged determination to succeed at all costs in a male-dominated industry. “I tell my officers about my life struggle. It motivates and inspires them to look to the stars,” she said. “I practice what I teach; that’s my motto,” she added.

Ntokozo Gwala

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Ntokozo Gwala is the Chief Executive Officer at Thembanathi. Gwala is a co-founder of Thembanathi. He is miles ahead of his peers, boasting a string of academic qualifications, including a Master of Business Administration (MBA), national teaching diploma, national marketing diploma, and bachelor’s degree in marketing, amongst others. Although he has never been a security officer in his life, his start-up is making waves, having recruited the right people for the correct positions at the right time.
However, Gwala’s success lies in having been bitten by an entrepreneurship bug as a youngster, and it has never let up. He ran a successful spaza shop in his teens and recently ran a Cell C. Franchise, to name but a few.
He has garnered requisite experience in various sectors, including telecommunications, education, gambling and beverages industries. At ABI as a Senior Accounts Manager, he bragged an award being the Innovator of the Quarter.
Apart from being an entrepreneur, he is a teacher and a community leader through and through. He is a Deputy Chairman of Umlazi Community Investment Fund, Umlazi schools sports organizer, committee member of the Umlazi North Physical education committee. As a teacher, he has taught at the high school level, college and university. “Business success is finding the right corporate strategy, the right mix of skills and aptitudes. Then, deploy the necessary capital, implement the strategy, and keep repeating best practice, over and over again,” he said.

Njabulo Ndlovu

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Thembanathi Security Safety and Cleaning Services
Njabulo Ndlovu is a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Thembanathi. Ndlovu has played the game of balancing the numbers for over 20 years. Yet, he adds more just the numbers at Thembanathi but the depth and heightened understanding of business finance. He boasts of balancing books of multinationals such as Old Mutual, Tenox Management Consultancy and the KwaZulu-Natal Municipal Provident Fund, amongst others. In addition, he brings a wealth of experience, including public finance, capital budgeting, financial statement & cash flow analysis, domestic/ offshore investments and taxation.
He had a stint as a fund accountant at the KwaZulu-Natal Municipal Provident Funds and soon climbed the proverbial corporate ladder to be CFO. He successfully played a significant role in increasing the value of the KwaZulu-Natal Municipal Provident Fund assets from a paltry R 1.5 Billion to R 7 Billion.
He is also reputed as Mr Clean Audit, having received astonishingly over ten clean audits from the Auditor-General (AG) during his tenure in the public sector.
After hitting the right note with the AG for so many years, he needed a new challenge. So he joined several medium-sized businesses until he found a perfect fit for his skills and needed to grow something below.
He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree, and he is a registered member of the Southern Africa Institute of Business Accountants (SAIBA).

Thandeka Gambushe

Skills and Training Manager
Thandeka Gambushe is a Skills and Training Manager at Thembanathi. To get the right mix of skills and experience, sometimes it boils down to the proper training. As a livewire, she has grown in the human resource management field, moving from being an HR consultant to a training manager. Interestingly she is a tech bovine by training. She uses her knowledge of Information Technology to leverage her role as an HR specialist. Her attitude as a go-getter stands her in good stead. As a training chief, she identifies and aligns trainee needs with core competencies of the job and company values.
She is a lifelong learner boasting a string of qualifications longer than one’s arm. These include certificates in Digital Skills, Network Security Expect; Labour Law, Intro to POPI Act; and Information Technology Diploma, just to name a few.
Her success in training is thanks to her grounding in customer care management obtained during her various spells as a Cellular Specialist, Data and Voice Specialist, Customer Service Consultant, and Call Centre Agent, amongst others. Her multiple academic certificates make her a versatile and integral part of senior management at Thembanathi. True to her resourcefulness in her spare time, she trades in various currencies and commodities.

Ntsikelelo Ngalo

Sales and Marketing Manager
Ntsikelelo Ngalo is a Sales and Marketing Manager at Thembanathi and he also looks after the Key Accounts. Ngalo’s strong traits lie in his superb communication skills, including sales, marketing and customer relationship management. These are backed by an array of solid academic qualifications, including tourism, journalism, business management, and marketing obtained at the Durban University of Technology and MANCOSA (Management College of Southern Africa). He is a consummate professional in communications and project management after holding senior positions at Ibhongo Consulting as director and senior project manager, communications, PR & marketing manager at the KZN Sharks Board. He also had a stint as a brand management specialist at British American Tobacco (BATSA). In addition, he served as a senior consultant and projects manager at Ngalo and Adams Consulting, amongst others.
He even played a role in the 2010 Fifa World Cup as a project manager responsible for the tournament indoor fan park hosted by the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre.
He brings to Thembanathi a deep understating of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and project management. He has dabbled in the entrepreneurship space with relative success as a co-founder of the consulting firm dubbed Ngalo and Adams Consultancy. The consultancy focused on project management & training, business development, business linkages, skills development, research, SMME and co-operative economics.
In his free time, he provides a tutoring service to the Mangosuthu University of Technology students in subjects including Marketing, Advertising & Sales Promotion and Consumer Behaviour.
